FAQ

Answer Engine Optimization in APAC, straight answers.

What is Answer Engine Optimization (AEO)?

AEO is the practice of getting a brand accurately cited and recommended inside AI-generated answers from Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, DeepSeek, and Grok, rather than only ranked as a blue link.

Isn't this just SEO with a new label?

No, overlapping but not identical. SEO optimizes the pages Google indexes; AEO targets the sources answer engines pull from when building an answer. The two complement each other rather than compete. Many pages that rank #1 on Google have near-zero AI visibility score.

Is GEO the same as AEO?

Yes. Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) and AEO describe the same discipline: earning citations inside AI-generated answers. We standardize on AEO because it's the clearer, more durable term, but the work is identical either way.

We already rank well on Google. Why does this matter?

Because buyers increasingly get a zero-click AI answer before they reach your ranked page. If that answer doesn't cite you, the ranking underneath it rarely gets seen. AEO puts you inside the answer itself.

Our SEO is handled in-house. Will this overlap?

No. We own the AEO layer, AI source optimization, entity structuring, multi-market citation strategy, and hand your team briefs. Your team keeps owning traditional SEO — our goal is to complement your existing team, filling gaps where needed, not compete with it.

How do we prove AI search success to leadership?

Traditional SEO ROI math doesn't fully apply yet: answer engines don't expose reliable search volume data. So we track what's measurable instead: visibility score, citation rate, answer accuracy, non-branded and branded-query lift, sentiment, AI referral traffic and its conversion rate, branded search volume lift, per market, then map it to business impact where the data supports it. Every metric traces to a specific query and source, so it holds up in a board deck. You'll have a baseline within two weeks and early movement within the first quarter, timed to how regional budgets get reviewed.

We operate across multiple APAC markets. Can you handle that?

Yes, it's the core of what we do. We run per-market, per-language strategy accounting for platform differences and what each engine cites per country.

How is this different from translating our existing content?

Translation converts words; it doesn't earn citations. Answer engines in each SEA market cite local sources that translation alone never reaches. We build genuine presence on those sources, per market.

Our brand is strong at HQ. Won't that visibility carry over?

Not reliably. The sources an engine cites in the US differ from those it cites in Indonesia or Vietnam. Home-market AI visibility rarely transfers; local source authority has to be built market by market.

What does it cost to start?

Most teams begin with a free AI Visibility Snapshot, then a one-time AEO Audit from USD 2,500 (credited toward your first month if you move into Management within 30 days). AEO Management starts at USD 3,000 per month per market.
